About Ronique Ross

I have worked for the Department of Children and Family services (DCFS) in Los Angeles County for 25 years. My experience at DCFS has included being a line social worker who provided case management services to children and their families, Dependency Investigator who investigated allegations and petitions filed in court, a Supervising Children's Social Worker over line staff, to an Assistant Regional Administrator over line staff as well as clerical support staff. I have been responsible for training staff and coaching them to the practice. I am committed to addressing racial disparity and disproportionality as such have been actively involved in the Department's work in this area. I have participated in policy workgroups and contributed to policy being established and practice being implemented. I served as the Executive Assistant to our Department's Chief Deputy Director, which is the office responsible for managing the departments day to day operations, including staffing decisions and fiscal matters. I am currently the Executive Assistant to the Director as well as am leading the Departments Authentic Youth Engagement work where we center the voices of youth who have lived experience in care, ensuring they are seated at tables where we make decisions (policy, social worker training academy etc). My prior assignment as the Interim Division Chief over the Youth Development Services Division, which provides support to over current and former foster youth in the areas of housing, employment, and education, among other things, helped to lead the pathway to the very important work I am doing now in my current roles.
