About Roopesh Kumar Vr

Started and established the department of Neurosurgery at JIPMER, an institution of National Importance in the year 2006. Started MCh Neurosurgery programme at JIPMER in the year 2010. Established Neuro cadaver lab at JIPMER in 2014. Was Instrumental in establishing The Tamilnadu and Pondicherry chapter of Neurosurgery in 2017 and successfully conducted the 1st annual meeting in April 2017. Recipient of various awards- Bischt, Anna award, Jaycee, Institutional award for Neurotrauma by Neurotrauma society of India, Best paper award in Skullbasecon 2011, 2013; Neurovacon 2016 and best poster award -Neurovascon 2012. Member of PMSSY project of Govt of India to procure equipments for 6 AIIMS like institutes. Contribution to Neurological Society of India: 1. Resource faculty for Resident training programme organized by NSI. Served as executive committee member – Skull base surgery society of India 2013-2015. Presently, the treasurer of Skull base surgery society of India. Joint treasurer, NSI con 2016, Chennai Contribution to Neurosciences: 1. Organized the 16th Annual conference of Skull base society of India (Skull base con 2014) 2. Organized various cadaver workshops, live surgery workshops and CME programmes since 2009 and conduct periodic microvascular workshops. Organizing secretary of Neurovascon 2018 at Chennai. Has more than 35 publications in various peer reviewed national and international journals. Has presented numerous papers and delivered several lectures in various National and international conferences
