About Rory Cavicke

Senior at the University of Connecticut majoring in Environmental Engineering and minoring in Environmental Economics and Policy. I was attracted to this field because of my strong passion for environmental preservation/remediation and environmental justice.My work as President and Project Lead in the UConn Engineers Without Borders club has given me unparalleled engineering experience. These roles require vast amounts of organization and communication to ensure projects and meetings go according to plan. The part of this work I find the most valuable is my experience communicating with engineering professionals both orally and through writing. My role as the Kenya Project Lead allowed me to work with the community of Gambela, Kenya who is suffering from increasing drought due to climate change. Our role is to work with the community to find a solution to their water crisis while also putting the communities' needs at the forefront.
