About Rory Cushen
Hi! I am Rory, but some people call me Cush. I am an educator with a passion for Mother Nature. Since 2020, I have been interpreting the natural world and environmental processes, teaching Southwest Florida history, highlighting what makes it unique, and promoting a more sustainable lifestyle with a deeper connection to the single planet we share. I have taught learners from the elementary through the elderly while holding various positions, all while exploring different local landscapes with varying levels of disturbance and development. I am fortunate to have interacted with a plethora of diverse audiences, explored the different areas that I have come to understand intimately, and had the outdoor experiences I've had. I believe an interpreter can only be as good as the audiences and environments they have worked with, so I will always strive to push the boundaries of my experience. Additional interests include dendrology, birding, photography, hiking, reading nature books, and understanding what individuals are passionate about and what gets people outside.
