About Rory Dowdall

Completed my studies at QUT Kelvin Grove in the dual Bachelor of Vision Science/Master's in Optometry program in 2018. I was also made a member of the QUT College of Excellence due to consistently high marks in my studies. Queensland Optometry Student Society President for 2018, and also a recent inductee into the Corneal & Contact Lens Society of Australia Queensland Committee and the International Cornea & Contact Lens Conference 2019 organising committee. Completed previous studies at Griffith University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Clinical Science and Physiology, and was elected student speaker of my graduating class as the highest achieving SEET graduate. Worked post graduation as a Sleep Scientist for Genesis Sleep Care for a number of years, also enjoyed my time working as an Operating Theatre Assistant in the meantime to help my finance myself during my study. I've also launched a new Optometry practice in Brisbane with the support of Mullein Pharmacies & The My Medical & Dental group. The practice has a strong focus on ocular health and dry eye, but will also offer services such as myopia control, Ortho-K, children's screening and paeds Optometry and a mobile home/facility visit service.
