About Rory Millar

Hard worker experienced in problem-solving, service and time management with nearly 4 year experience of working in the police. I have managed a team of between 8 - 15 police officers during the last year. During that time, I have managed everyday policing within my working borough, but also critical incidents that have made national news. This experience has allowed me to develop my management style whilst also tackling complex policing issues that arise within my team. Throughout the time in this role, I have developed a number of skills. I have ensured that teams do not go over budgets by allocating resources in order to minimise unnecessary overtime. I have also taken a leading role in developing those I manage by identifying areas for improvement and steps that could be taken to progress. Finally, I excel at making fast and effective decisions in high risk situations due to my role and this will continue to be a useful facet going forward.
