About Rosa Lee

Rosa Lee was honored with the Juilliard School's John Erskine Prize, awarded based on "achieving the highest scholastic and artistic achievement upon a graduating student in Dance, Drama, or Music." Classical pianist Rosa Lee was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Recognized in Seattle’s Korea Times as a pianist capable of “fearlessly communicating a distinct message through clear tone and beautiful expression,” Lee enjoys an active performing career. She has performed as soloist with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, Northwest Mahler Orchestra, Sammamish Symphony Orchestra, University of Puget Sound Orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest, Musicians Emeritus Symphony, and Seattle Junior Symphony Orchestra. Her numerous competition honors include top prizes in the Seattle Young Artist Music Festival, Scholarship Competition of Seattle Music Teachers Association, Seattle Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, and Northwest Regional Music Teachers National Association Competition. She has been broadcasted on PBS television and Seattle King FM numerous times. Lee holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance at the Juilliard School of Music, a second master’s degree in music education from Columbia University, Teacher’s College, and a doctorate degree from the Eastman School of Music. Lee’s principle piano studies were with Julian Martin and at Eastman with Nelita True. She is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Bethel College, Kansas.
