About Rosa Rodriguez

My passion for public service began when I was a young child and discovered my deep-seated desire to help others. I was always interested in making a positive difference in my community, and my passion for public service has only grown since then. I began my political outreach work in 2019 when I worked as a Field Representative for the Progressive Turnout Project. In this position, I was able to use my fluency in Spanish to reach more citizens and communicate to them the importance of voting. Since then, I have volunteered for a number of local candidates, and have extensive experience with phone banking and canvassing. I was admitted to Northern Illinois University after graduating from the College of DuPage with two academic scholarships. I completed an internship with Representative Sean Casten of Illinois' 6th district in the winter of 2021. I began an internship in January 2022 with Dr. Linh Nguyen's campaign for DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder where I was her field director. Today, I am working as an Immigration Forum Intern for the DuPage Federation on Human Services Reform, where I am using my skills to enhance the annual forum and learn new skills along the way. I will be graduating from NIU in the spring of 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in public administration and service, additionally a double minor in Sociology and Nonprofit and NGO studies. With this degree, I intend to dedicate the rest of my life to public service, making the lives of others better, and successfully assisting in making government work more efficiently and responsive to citizens. My degree will help me make a positive impact on my community, and in the years to come I hope to continue making government work for everyone.
