Social worker with excellent listening and communication skills and a lot of passion for trauma-informed approaches to advocacy services and the movement to end violence against women. Currently working as a Public Policy Specialist for the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence to advocate for legislation that impacts survivors of gender-based violence in the Washington State Legislature and Congress, educating advocates and survivors about the policy process, and helping connect them with their legislators. Highly skilled in providing advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Strong belief that advocacy work should be done by collaborating with survivors to work towards their goals and by promoting their right to autonomy and self-direction. Versed in developing strong partnerships with systems to enhance advocacy services and to transform the overall system response to domestic violence. Interest in community-based approaches to transformative and restorative justice. Significant experience working with non-profits that provide resources and support for marginalized populations. Currently attending the University of Washington’s Masters of Social Work program and exploring strategies for the collective liberation and wellbeing of all people.
