About Rosaria Chifari

Senior Consultant with 12 years of experience in Waste Management, circular economy and Renewable Energy. She holds a degree in Engineering for Environment and Territory from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona on the topic “Integrated assessment of Municipal Solid Waste Metabolism”. Her main areas of interests are urban waste management, circular bioeconomy as well as sustainable energy with special emphasis on bioenergy and biodigestion. Her main publications are focused on integrated assessment of the performance of urban waste management systems to encompass the environmental, institutional, and socio-economic dimensions. She is currently working in Fundacio ENT as consultant/researcher involved in different european projects such as DECISIVE which is dealing with the valorisation of biowaste from urban areas using decentralized management schemes. She has worked as consultant and market analyst in international companies for 6 years, participating in renewable energy feasibility and implementation studies, sustainable biomass market studies, projects related to the use of waste as alternative fuel and design of anaerobic digestion plants for biogas production from municipal organic waste.
