I've enjoyed a varied career across communications, media relations / publicity, integrated marketing, strategic policy, local and state government, CMS platforms, social media, e-commerce, business analysis and community and event engagement. In the early stages of e-commerce in 2010, I worked with a small team in the United Kingdom to transition an award-winning independent retailer to develop and build their first e-commerce website. This involved CMS integration with POS systems, stock control, CMS management, SEO, social media marketing, advertorial, blogging, connecting with influencers and engaging local businesses and community to build awareness, ROI for e-commerce pursuit, and increase online sales. In Cairns, Far North Queensland, I headed the publicity for Cairns Regional Council's Cultural Services department. Cultural Services presents an array of programs and activities including live music, theatre, visual arts, screen culture, festivals including the Cairns Festival and more. Venues include the multiple award-winning Tanks Arts Centre, the Cairns Performing Arts Centre and Munro Martin Parklands. In this role I increased media coverage by 300% in the local and state media, as well as overhauling processes and professionalism to the way in which the marketing unit conducted media relations. My writing has been published by Tropic Now, Cairns Life, Queensland Soccer News and Fair Play Publishing.
