About Rose Conlin

I am currently pursuing my PhD at Queen's University and am interested in pursuing a career in teaching art history and material culture at the university and college level. I am passionate about bringing early modern history and material culture into a contemporary circumstance by drawing comparisons to current cultural discourse, real world applications of art history in commercial, educational, entertainment, and private settings to ensure that future students in the field understand their worth and the multitude of opportunities for them. My skills include: 1.) Computer skills and web development skills, including basic HTML coding, related to educational content delivery, programming and designing online learning forums, and managing online educational platforms. These include department websites through WebPublish 3.0, course development in Rise 360 and D2L, and Discord. 2.) Familiarity and experience with photo editing, video editing, and creative software such as Camtasia and Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite for the purposes of academic writing publishing (physical and digital), and course content delivery. 3.) Navigating, researching, and interpreting archival material in English, Dutch, and Middle Dutch sources for personal and educational purposes. 4.) Delivering course content and assisting students with their various questions and needs to ensure not only the comprehension of course material, but the enjoyment of it by drawing comparisons with contemporary cultural material and events. 5.) Strong proofreading, editing, and revision skills, and several years of experience with Chicago Style citation formatting for academic writing and publishing.
