While obtaining her BBA degree, Ms. Harrell worked for the largest cable company in the US, Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. During her tenure with Comcast she honed her skills as an HR professional working her way from a clerk-typist, at the corporate headquarters, to an HR Administrator serving seven locations throughout PA and NJ. Upon leaving Comcast in 1997, Ms. Harrell began a career in the non-profit industry working for Lutheran Children and Family Services, Germantown Settlement, The American Red Cross and theVillage (formerly Presbyterian Children’s Village) in the capacity of HR Director. Ms. Harrell has successfully represented companies at FCC, PHRC and EEOC fact finding conferences and hearings. Her knowledge of employment law has helped her to maintain an excellent track record for winning unemployment compensation hearings. Ms. Harrell’s financial acumen has enabled her to demonstrate how decreasing employee abuse of leave time results in increased productivity which raises the bottom line. Ms. Harrell’s ability to train not only her own staff, but all levels of management in HR related topics make her an excellent business partner. Her ability to analyze data has helped to decrease turnover and increase retention in the organizations she has served. Her experience in the for-profit industry gives her a unique perspective on how non-profit and for-profit organizations are similar.
