Background
About Rose Perrin
OVERVIEW & BACKROUND: Graduated from the College of New Caledonia, Prince George BC 1976 and University of Northern BC I began my Perinatal career in 1990; working Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labour & Delivery and Public Health nursing. In 2003 I was able to implement the first Prenatal Registry Program for Northern Health in Prince George to support and facilitate early and integrated Prenatal Health care to all pregnant women in the community. When Northern Health implemented the Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB) program in January 2006 I was thrilled to become the Regional Coordinator and work with all perinatal providers across the North. As the MOREOB program developed into the Northern Health Perinatal Program I was again privileged to take on the Executive Lead role which included a provincial liaison with Perinatal Services BC and First Nations villages across the North. In parallel I have also had the opportunity to provide nursing education with UNBC as an adjunct professor with the School of Nursing where we offer a rural and remote focused perinatal program. In April 2011 after being nominated by her Provincial colleagues Rose received the CRNBC Award of Distinction, truly a highlight of my career. In 2009 BC Patient Safety & Quality Control Council awarded the 2009 award for Excellence in Quality & Safety to Northern Health Authority. I was proud to have been able to lead our team to this achievement. Spring forward to March 2015 – I retired from Northern Health in June 2014 from a rewarding career. Currently, I continue to teach with the UNBC School of Nursing. Teaching is “food for the soul” and I treasure this opportunity. CURRENT STATUS: I am looking for opportunities to work with you. I bring my passion for quality care to perinatal women and their families. I would like to be involved in Women’s health and in particular opportunities to work with First Nations perinatal families.
