Background
About Rosemarie Epp
Welcome to my LinkedIn Profile! I began my career in health care in 2004 after graduating from Herzing Career College with Honours. Being in health care needs understanding, patience and compassion. A move to Alberta prompted a new job search. I continued with health care, however, in a different capacity. I joined the reception team at Canterbury Foundation where I was responsible for answering calls, responding to emergencies and making sure the residents of the facility were taken care of. Working the night shift, I was able to help accounts payable with invoicing and the collection of payments. As I grew in my position at Canterbury my desire to do more led me to apply for a position with Edmonton Public Schools. I applied to be an Educational Assistant and started this journey in May 2008. This position would test my patience as well as my ability to diffuse hostile situations; I had been placed in a behaviour classroom. Outside of my realm of expertise, I would dive into professional development and learn all that I could about what the best plan of action would be. It would be 6 years that I would enjoy this position and would find the opportunity to move into the office through Edmonton Public Schools in-house training. My jump to administrative assistant began in 2014. I would train and actively work in the office while others in the program would have the opportunity to soak in their learning. The busyness in the office was incredible and I enjoyed the multi-tasking. My principal at that time gave me the opportunity to do the morning announcements which connected me with our junior high population. I became an integral part of their morning, so much so that when I left the school, the students wished me a wonderful goodbye on the announcements; that made my years there that much more meaningful. I was on my way up the administrative ladder. My desire to learn and accomplish more made the moves easier. As I learned more about my new administrative position and tackled more complex tasks that would see me budgeting, projecting, and making sure month end processes were completed correctly and on time; I once again found myself wanting more responsibility. I took on the last role in the administrative world within Edmonton Public Schools and I have found myself here for the last 6 years. I have never shied away from a challenge, enjoy learning new concepts and implementing them. I love working in an environment where I am able to assist others, teach and be an uplifting part of the team.
