About Ross Alexander

I am an outgoing, enthusiastic individual that strives in challenging environments. Mountain biking, climbing and mountaineering are my passion outside work as they allow me to enjoy and appreciate the great outdoors. From my outdoor pursuit experiences I have learnt the importance of careful planning, good preparation and the need to be able to act independently and as part of a team as necessary. My role is to provide best practice environmental guidance and advice to the construction teams as well as carrying out environmental monitoring in the field. I was responsible for planning and undertaking noise, vibration, dust and water quality monitoring and analysis. I was also responsible for maintaining the kit and ensuring it was kept in calibration at all times. I have been responsible for looking after the North section of the project which is approximately £200m worth of work. Within my role I attend management meetings to discuss progress, planning and mitigation works, liaise with ecologists to minimise the construction impact on surrounding habitats, and conduct site visits which could be independent or with a regulatory bodies such as SEPA, SNH and the Fisheries Board. I am an ambitious and confident person who is keen to learn and develop, allowing me to achieve the best in all that I do.
