About Ross Connon

As a 5th year MEng Chemical Engineering Student at the University of Strathclyde, I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills to real-world challenges.In 2023, I completed a 3-month summer internship with INEOS FPS, one of the leading petrochemical companies in the UK. This was an invaluable opportunity to gain technical competency and insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of professional process engineers. I worked on various projects, such as leading an investigation into pressure increases at Cruden Bay, participating in safety studies, and preparing for the 2023 TAR outage. I also visited different INEOS assets across Scotland and completed my MIST and BOSIET offshore survival training, which enabled me to visit the Unity installation offshore.Since 2014, I have been caddying for international visitors at Cruden Bay Golf Club, where I have learned about different cultures and nationalities and honed my people skills. This role requires vast knowledge of both the golf course and the area, and I enjoy sharing my passion for golf and Scotland with the guests.
