About Ross Gibb

As a Power & Propulsion Engineer at the UK Ministry of Defence, I specialise in mechanical propulsion systems, having been heavily involved in shaft alignment and gearbox installation. I have also contributed to mechanical commissioning acceptance, including diesel generator trials, main engine trials, and fuel system commissioning on previous platforms. I am a pro-active and delivery-focused engineer with a strong background in shipbuilding, marine propulsion, and marine systems engineering. I completed the MoD engineering graduate scheme in 2019, where I conducted in-service design changes and worked extensively with Royal Navy customers. I am currently pursuing my MSc in Marine Technology (Marine Engineering) at Newcastle University, with the goal of achieving Incorporated Engineer status with IMechE and IMarEST, and applying for Chartership in the future. I am passionate about advancing my skills and knowledge in the marine engineering field, and supporting the UK's naval defence capabilities.
