About Ross Hayes

As a Senior Propulsion Engineer at Equatorial Space Systems, I leverage my expertise in hybrid rocket propulsion technology to advance spaceflight applications. I have experience in coordinating the design and construction of test stands, supervising the assembly and testing of hybrid rocket motors, managing stock and resources for motor test campaigns, and leading manufacturing checks for precision-machined parts and assemblies critical for spaceflight. Prior to joining Equatorial Space, I held leadership roles at South Metropolitan TAFE and North Metropolitan TAFE, where I coordinated timetables, analyzed and reported on portfolio performance, streamlined and optimized delivery strategies, developed commercial delivery opportunities, collaborated with the administration team, and assisted Portfolio Managers in business planning, commercial opportunities, and budget management. I also co-coordinated and programmed a team of lecturers covering trade areas in Fitting and Machining, Fluid power, Belt splicing, and the NMTafe Joint venture with the BHP Future fit Academy. I hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from South Metropolitan TAFE and a Mechanical Trade qualification from Polytechnic West. I am passionate about delivering high-quality education and training programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
