About Ross Johnson

I’m a new graduate of the MBA program at Colorado State University, which is preparing me for further challenges ahead in my career. I’m currently engaged in volunteer work to educate and train high school age students in public speaking and leadership. The sessions run about 90 minutes. Class sizes range from 12 to 22 students. Sessions include prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, and training in evaluation. Moreover, students taught the importance of ethics and servant leadership. Such skills will serve them well throughout their educational and professional lives. I’m an outgoing and civic oriented leader with 15 years experience in public sector management and over 8 years of experience in state and local politics. My skills in public speaking, group leadership, event organizing, political organization, persuasive writing, multicultural leadership, and political campaigning, have made me well qualified for most any leadership position. My favorite hobbies include history, philosophy, and political science. I also love global travel and getting acquainted on a personal level with divergent cultures, religions and worldviews. My favorite travel venues include Egypt, Tibet, and northwest China along the Silk Road. I’m also a long-distance runner who has conquered several marathons and ultra-marathons throughout the western U.S. One of my greatest achievements was completing my Eagle Scout award.
