About Ross Owen

Ross Owen is a Chartered Surveyor and has worked in investment management for over 25 years. He was previously an equity partner at Cluttons LLP where he was head of investment and fund management and later became Chairman of Lambert Smith Hampton Investment Management, to which he remains a consultant. Ross is principal property investment adviser to University College, Oxford and is a member of the College’s investment committee. He is also a non-executive director of Wynnstay Properties PLC, an AIM listed property investment business. He is a co-opted member of the investment committee of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea pension fund, a member of the estate and property committee for John Lyon's Charity and is a trustee and director of the Cowes Town Waterfront Trust. In his consultancy work, Ross is focussing on investment strategies in the student housing, co-living and senior living sectors. These sectors benefit from attractive supply/demand dynamics and are areas of the market where he considers development risk is well rewarded. Typically, Ross structures joint ventures with specialist developers and operators, to create high quality, operational assets. Completed projects realise an attractive IRR and deliver a positive social impact in the communities which they serve.
