About Ross Taylor

My summer student days saw me working as a junior draftsmen, after 2 years of community college I continued for 8 years as a draftsmen. I then had an opportunity to perform field as built drawings during new construction and from there forward I wanted to be "in the field". I then took on an inspection role during plant shutdowns and as a pressure vessel quality inspector for new construction.After another 8 years in the inspection field I was given the opportunity to perform a construction supervisor role of new construction, in all 25 years with the company. Performing construction co-ordination and being a Contractor Liaison led to an opportunity to work with a large demolition contractor; Murray Demolition who offered me an opportunity to head west. After 2 years in a project coordinator and safety role in Edmonton, shortage of work and spousal persuasion put me on the west coast and shortly thereafter was given an opportunity to work on the Sea To Sky Highway Project. My Kiewit years allowed me an opportunity to perform a safety role in all types of heavy civil construction from roadworks, run of the river projects, transmission installation, earthworks, concrete, structure and industrial. I have come full circle, but I am not done yet, I still have the passion. Safety is about people, keeping people safe; looking out for each other; being your brothers keeper. I am looking forward in continuing to work with others who are committed to the same philosophy and the belief that all injuries are preventable.
