About Ross Thomson

I am a young professional with a First-Class Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, currently working as a Powertrain Design Engineer for Triumph Factory Racing. I’ve been with Triumph for two years, initially joining the OEM team before progressing into the Factory Racing division. I am now entering the final year of Triumph’s Professional Development Programme, working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation with the IMechE. Between my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, I completed an industrial placement year at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd, where I worked in Project Management across the Bespoke and Aftersales departments. Prior to returning to the UK, I spent four years living in Auckland, New Zealand, where I worked as an Operations and Assets Engineering Assistant for the Link Alliance (via Downer), and later as a Product Development Engineer at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
