About Ross Whitham

I am a hard working, highly driven individual with a passion for engineering. I have ten years experience with six years as a professional. I have worked my way through the business starting from Electrical Apprentice moving to qualified Electrical Technician and currently Electrical Engineer. This career path is a testament to the hard work and determination that I have shown. But, I also believe that actions speak louder than words and my growth within the business has allowed me to showcase my skillset. I have had the privilege of being able to work on many interesting projects, involving designing processes and integrating them into the Plant. Some of these have involved designing complex control systems for machines and creating Human Machine Interface programs that can not only improve the productivity off the machines but also improve the everyday tasks an operator must undertake. This is a key factor in my design process. The finished product needs to be user friendly, professional and enhance the experience of operating machines by providing as much information to the operator as possible such as fault diagnosis and statistics. I take great pride in my work but also welcome constructive criticism. This only allows me to improve my work create better end products. With the business using predominantly Omron PLCs, this is where my expertise lies. This includes CX One with all accompanying software and my knowledge of Sysmac Systems including NX and NJ is growing rapidly. My main skills are: Design and integration of control systems and HMIs, Servo and Inverter drive systems, Networking(EtherCAT, CANbus, ProfiNET, Ethernet I/P, DeviceNET), Design and Integration of Safety Systems.
