Hi, my name is Rowan and thanks for checking out my profile. Currently, I am working toward completing a Batchelor of Business. I will be doing a double major. My first major is HR and my second major will be management. Whilst studying I have stepped out of owning and operating businesses and currently work at Caloundra Removals head office on the Sunshine Coast in a sales and operations position. My aspiration is to work my way up in the company or once my degree is completed apply for a graduate position where I can not only apply my degree and past business knowledge but also be mentored to help my professional and career development. Prior to studying I was the Principal/licensee of Topaz Property Group, a residential real estate agency on the Sunshine Coast. I’m proud to say we stood out from the crowd. We marketed our properties in a completely different way to traditional agencies. Have you ever heard of the following? Home open events Themed home opens Custom video with the property owners - example and I am proudest of committing to a donations to a local charity from every sale to help the local community. This is just a short list of some of our marketing tactics. Many of the above are contined on by local real estate agents today. With leading business processes in place Topaz was sold to another real estate agency. Prior to this, I had owned and operated a removal and storage business in Perth. Once again we stood out, firstly our name made us memorable. The business called Sir Movealot. The tag line was 'your knight in shining armor when it comes to moving'. Our unique marketing led to the business doubling turnover year on year. This business was initially challenging to maintain long term employees as as the time mining position were plentiful in Western Australia. My management style lead me to look at intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factors of my employees. This lead to many long standing motivated employees who in turn went over and above for our customers. Which naturally turned into more business. Having completed thousands of removals all over Western Australia this business was sold to another removal company in Perth. I'm always up for a chat about business or property.
