About Rowan Bleaney

The common thread through my career has been solving problems. I'm drawn to roles where I can meet people where they're at and help them find their path forwards – even if they're angry, combative, or scared. I love identifying where problems originated and working both to improve the underlying systems, and to streamline communications about solutions and resources. In particular, I'm passionate about protecting and proactively supporting people who face extra barriers through identity or marginalization, and ensuring that services are equally accessible to all. For 12 years, my focus was primarily in library services. In 2023, after seeing an increasing number of overwhelmed students on the library desk trying to navigate Academic Integrity issues, I pivoted to the area where I saw an increasing need for careful, compassionate, creative problem-solving: my institution's Academic Integrity team. With seven years of experience in higher education, I'm always looking for news ways to collaborate across teams to provide the strongest possible service to our communities.
