About Rowan Peterson

So far… Thank you for taking the time to look at my page. Currently a Creative Lead based in Cape Town. I spent the majority of my studies at AFDA Durban, thoroughly enjoying my first two and a half years at the Durban campus. In 2016, I was granted a 100% bursary by The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT Seta) for the final year of my Bachelor of Arts degree, allowing me to make the decision to chase my dream move to Cape Town. Soon after my studies, I was fortunate to be hired by HOMEBREW FILMS, a fantastic film and television production company. I was the sole Motion Graphic Designer spanning from September of 2017 to October of 2019. My role required me to design all graphic related content, ranging from logo design, billboards, posters to endboards for commercials, fully animated title sequences, magazine animations and much more, all in 2D and 3D spaces breathe*. I designed all content from start to finish, which made me entirely responsible for all of my designs and what Homebrew delivered in a graphic capacity. Currently I am a part of one of the countries leading OOH media companies: TRACTOR OUTDOOR, and am hugely proud to be the Creative Lead. I oversee all design related content across the varying divisions within the business. Every day I am faced with challenges that drive me to learn and understand what it means to work towards a Profit for Purpose business model. My goal has been to redefine what it means to be a graphic designer here at Tractor, with focus on motion graphic design in a 2D, 3D and interactive space for 2024.
