About Rowan Ryrie

Mother, activist and lawyer, using all the skills I have available to try to secure a healthy planet for all our kids to grow old on - and trying to encourage others to do the same. I am a strategic leader working to grow the power and impact of intergenerational climate movements. I have co-founded multiple national (UK) and global Parents for Future movements and programmes including an ongoing intergenerational climate Fellowship programme and closely supported youth-led organising. I work to embed love and resilience in activism, supporting communities of emerging climate leaders with a focus on female leadership and voices. I am interested in breaking down communication and engagement barriers, telling stronger stories of change rooted in connectedness, organisational development to grow healthy movement cultures, resourcing movements effectively and creativity in campaigning. I have 15+ years experience of working on both international environmental protection and human rights and approach work on climate justice through this lens. As a UK qualified solicitor I integrate some legal strategy to my work with movements and seek to realise the massive potential for creating change by combining the power of movements and the creative use of law.
