A certified health information management professional skilled in medical coding and data analyis who can perform abstracting in Winrecs and also extract, report, and analyze data from various electronic health record (EHR) systems and reporting databases such as EPIC, OHRS, and CIHI. I have completed a co-op work placement at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) where I performed decision support functions such as preparing trauma reports, analyzing datasets for ORN/ORRS reporting and comparing hospital performance indicators. I also have a background in information technology and informatics, process improvement, and technical support management. I supervised several virtual and on-site staff members, utilized the Kayako ticketing platform, and administered the SharePoint system at Appen, a global leader in data annotation and machine learning. I am proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Sharepoint), have working knowledge in WinRecs, SQL, Folio (ICD-10, CCI), and continue to further my knowledge by obtaining certifications in different fields like data analytics, data visualization, data stewardship and governance, and medical terminologies through platforms like LinkedIn learning and Coursera. I am passionate and enthusiastic about leveraging technology and information to improve health outcomes and ensure data privacy. I am a fast learner, a team player, and a versatile individual who can work in varying work conditions with minimal supervision. I am currently looking for work within the HIM fields of decision support and coding, and I look forward to being part of an exceptional and collaborative work environment.
