About Roxanie Hibbins

Hi, I’m Roxy. As an educator and learning designer I spend most of my days asking one question, ‘How?’ The ‘how’ question which consumes most of my free thinking time is ‘How do we develop a model of regenerative education?’ I.e, An education system that supports the development of people holistically, to think regeneratively, to practice skills and knowledge in sustainable, nurturing ways that lead to positive outcomes for generations to come.We are now in an era where businesses, economists and scientists are saying that we need to think and act in a regenerative, sustainable way. How do we take those principles of living and concepts and integrate them into our work roles and professions, daily living and interpersonal relationships? Education is at the root of all change. Creating learning experiences that support this type of change is what I find most meaningful and purposeful. That means, learning that occurs at every level: skills, social, knowledge and community; learning that meets the needs of future challenges, is adaptive and embeds life-long learning attitudes. Successful learning not only develops skilled professionals, but also human-centred and functioning beings able to nurture growth and learning in others and their professions, people thirsty to learn more and contribute to best-practice and effective change.What does a successful day look like?A successful day is one in which I've made education that is accessible for all, is simple enough to implement immediately and when applied, makes significant positive change in the world.
