Organization, efficiency and helping others so they can focus on what they do best makes me giddy. Being faced with problematic situations, new challenges and unexpected urgencies are like solving a puzzle or mystery. Each scenario provides an opportunity to be innovative and to learn new things. I get super excited when these result in the creation of guidelines, standard operating procedures and safe work environments! Taking care of the menial tasks keeping everyone on track with their own specialties, making sure the things taken for granted are completed is part of what I do. I am here to make sure everything runs smoothly, dealing with situations as they arise, mostly without anyone knowing there was a situation at all. From basic accounting to logistics, from scheduling to inventory; I am the go-to. Collaborating with fellow BGCers around the globe working on different projects with the option to work on tasks outside my administrative role, keeps me connected with our One Team and allows me to dabble in the different areas I enjoy. Almost 40 years of working and volunteering in a variety of positions and roles in several different business sectors and in education has granted me the kind of knowledge and hands on experience you cannot learn from a textbook or a course. Holding positions on the front line, in the back of the house, as well as in management has provided me with a broad understanding of all that goes into making sure customers, clients and those fulfilling their needs are beyond satisfied. Being a people pleaser with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper-activity Disorder) and a neuro-diverse brain that likes to compartmentalize, gives me additional tools to do all the many tasks an administrative professional does in the run of a day with a sense of satisfaction and appreciation. I am a proud “jack of all trades”. After all, A Jack of all trades is a master of none, though oftentimes better than a master of one.
