About Roy Earnest
Since 1978, my primary career focus has been on services to older adults as a social worker, counselor, therapist, supervisor, program administrator/manager and government grant officer. I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings in the field of aging including senior centers, geriatric mental health, county funded home care and protective services, home care, adult day care, HUD subsidized senior housing, federally funded senior volunteer programs known as the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and Senior Companion Program (SCP) and as a Program officer for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), a federal agency formerly known as ACTION that oversees grants for FGP, SCP, RSVP, VISTA and AmeriCorps. After 15 years at CNCS, I reluctantly decided to resign as a result of CNCS' decision to move my work location to Los Angeles. As a result, I'm currently seeking new opportunities in the aging services network here in the SF Bay Area.
