Background

About Roy Mennen

I work in diverse projects where my responsibility lies in the development of the electrical system of machines in the high-tech sector and the electronics hardware development for products in the medical sector. Activities throughout the projects range from drafting the (electrical) requirements, defining the architecture and concepts up to creating the detailed design of a machine and/or PCA. At Demcon we also assemble the machines, where I assist the proto team during assembly and doing functional testing as well as the electrical safety testing. I'm familiar with using the 60204-1, 61010-1 and 60601-1 standards in my designs. Important part of the job is also to keep the planning up-to-date and align with the project manager and how the status and progress relates to the remaining (hour) budget of our discipline. This is mainly important when you have the lead over a small team of electrical/electronics engineers in larger projects. In the end you have a lot of interaction and alignment with other disciplines (like mechanics and software),(other/system) architects and the project manager.Projects include- Electrical system of a large qualification machine in a vacuum vessel- Electrical system of an (hydrogen) electrolyzer system- Electrical system of a large test setup to simulate an electron beam on- Electronics design of a medical analysis device- Electronics architecture of an electronics medical gas blender- etc
