About Roy Ramakers

Throughout my career I have always been passionate about Cisco networking products and how they can help customers evolve their business. Now in my current role as a Product Sales Specialist I advise our customer on networking decisions so that their business needs can be met. Before I started my career, I attended the “Technical Lyceum Eindhoven” where I studied electronics and later technical computer sciences. While in school, I learned the theory about routing and switching principles. During my internship at ACAL – a Cisco distributor - I got hands-on experience and was able to put the theory into practice. My first job after graduation was as a full-time network engineer with ACAL – the distributor that I had interned at as a student. In this position I developed fundamental skills that helped me delivering value at the customer, such as: • ability to design a solid network that supports the business needs • troubleshooting skills to help overcome customer network issues • act as a trusted advisor with regards to infrastructure needs and challenges For the last 12 years I’ve worked at Cisco in several positions. Going thru several SE roles to a Product Sales Specialist role in our public sector segment, I now moved into en Enterprise Networks Lead role for our Global Competitive Excellence team. In this role I will provide guidance and support to the Enterprise Networks Competitive Experts teams around the world. Going thru these roles it has helped me to grow on a technical and sales level; I have mastered the following: • network design - wired, wireless and routing • network management • selling on business outcomes • presentation skills When I can, I like to paint and express myself in a creative way.
