About Roy Steinberg

Before taking the helm of Cape May Stage, Roy B. Steinberg was the Supervising Producer and a member of the Directing team at “Days of our Lives” for five years. Prior to that he produced and directed “Guiding Light” for a decade as well as producing “Forensic Files “ and “Medical Detectives” for Court TV, and the indie “Lunch” with Tony Award winner Marianne Plunkett and Jay O. Sanders. He directed the pilot of “Life In General” starring Jo Beth Williams, created and co-directed a web series with Albert Alarr called “Loungitude” and directed the pilot for “Scandalous Art” with Maury Povich at Bravo. Mr. Steinberg, a graduate of Yale Drama School, began his career as an actor and has appeared on Broadway and at numerous regional theatres with such fine actors as Constance Cummings, Christopher Walken and William Hurt. He began directing at the famed Circle Repertory Theatre, working with among others Farley Granger and Lynn Cohen (from “Sex and the City”) in a new play that he helped develop. He has worked with many writers in the development of new plays and is also known for his work with actors, coaching some of the industry’s leading players. Specialties: Strategic theatre planning, motivating staff, getting high production values on all levels of budget, negotiating contracts, attaching artists to projects, directing/coaching actors, creating community involvement, film and video production
