About Roya Safaeinili

I am curious about advancing urban health equity through imaginative and transformative community-driven strategies. As a Master's student in Urban Planning at UC Berkeley, focusing on Environmental Planning and Healthy Cities, I am expanding upon my work as a Project Manager in air quality at Clarity Movement to more deeply understand the built environments' impact on human health. I am specifically interested in various frameworks and emergent strategies such as the HiAP model (Health in All Policies), 15-minute city model and Indigenous planning and land management. Previous to my graduate studies and work at Clarity, I was involved in ecology research at UC Berkeley and the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab in Colorado. I also had the opportunity to live abroad for a year in Copenhagen, where I studied Geographical Information Systems and was a research assistant in the Center of Macroecology at the University of Copenhagen. Throughout these years, I developed a deep appreciation for the natural world, as well as the urban world, and knew I wanted to dedicate my work to the interconnections between human and planetary health.
