About Royce Marnell

3D artist skilled in multiple animation tools (e.g, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and more), as well as advanced training in filmmaking, visual storytelling, and digital artistry. Making groundbreaking 3D assets, amazing content, and creating digital worlds and characters are my passions. I’ve been obsessed with animation for many years. Like other kids, I enjoyed watching the classic Disney films, but I was beyond mesmerized by the magic of animation. This fascination led to countless hours locked away in my room teaching myself Maya and how to make 3D models. I was proud to be accepted into Florida State University’s highly ranked College of Motion Picture Arts, where I earned a BFA in animation and digital arts in May 2020: I contributed to a number of award-winning productions, such as serving as art director and artist team leader of, winner of “Best Animation” at The New York Film Festival in 2020. Through my work on and other group and solo projects, I became skilled at capturing details that make a scene come alive. I developed proficiencies in modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering, and also learned how to work with speed and hyper-focus to beat tough deadlines while delivering richly detailed, film-ready assets. I directed, produced, and edited, a documentary short that was screened at film festivals nationwide. After graduating, I was hired by the university as an asset artist for a special project.
