I received my BA in Journalism in June 2006 from Baruch College, CUNY, with a minor in Photography. During my undergraduate career, I have taken courses in proofreading and editing and I have used skills learned in these courses in several competitive honors writing workshops, where students were asked to comment upon and edit the work of fellow students. Most recently, I did an editorial internship for Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers, where I learned skills that I believe have added to my creative flair, eye for detail, and knowledge of the publishing business. I am currently working at Booklinks Publishing Services as a project manager and an editorial assistant. Some of my tasks include, coordinating the flow of information between the client and the booklinks team, establishing clear communications with the client, and helping with editorial work as well as translations in the bilingual department. I am looking to continue growing in the publishing industry. I understand the importance of deadlines and am able to work both in a group setting and independently. I am a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills. Specialties: Proficient in Word, Excel and Acrobat. Over five years experience in customer service and sales. Fluent in Spanish.
