About Ruby Clay

I have worked at Domestic Abuse Intervention Services for 6 years. I' am a leader in the Madison community and founder of Black Girls United. Black Girls United is a youth group for girls 11-18 years of age. It is an open space for girls to talk about life, self-awareness, self-identity, as well as building skills for conflict resolution. In December of 2017 Madison365 wrote an article about the group. We believe in supporting our community and we volunteer in various places around town. I have worked in the Madison School District in various positions. I have received my Infant-Toddler Professional Credential and I completed my A.S. in Early Childhood Education. I recently received my B.A. in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. Before choosing to complete my BA in teaching, I completed a year and a half in the Human Service program at Madison College. I have completed various student teaching opportunities and also interned for The Arc house. I am currently enrolled at University of Whitewater working on my Masters in Counseling Education with an emphasis on mental health.
