Hi everyone, I'm Ruby J. Steele the Chief Executive Officer/Tribal Administrator of The Ketchikan Indian Community in Ketchikan, AK. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 10+ years gaining experience in general operation management, talent recruiting, and marketing. I have previously served my People as their Tribal Leader on the Tribal Council and am committed to protecting the land and culture of the Ketchikan Indian Community, the safety and welfare of employees, and driving government initiatives. I am very passionate about supporting organizations and projects that promote cultural awareness. I love to support the language revitalization projects by dedicating time to create children's Hualapai language flashcards for the young children in my community. It is my belief that,"It is through our children that we can begin making an impact to ensure our language survives for future generations". When out of the office, I LOVE to travel and visit new and exciting places. For fun, I enjoy working on handcrafted Native American beaded items or catching up on some of my favorite TV series.
