About Ruby Smith

I currently hold a position as a Research Associate as a part of the University of Delaware's CAD Lab. I work alongside a small team of researchers and graduate students to investigate the neural underpinnings that may cause some children to develop anxiety in adolescence. In this position, I hold many roles from conducting clinical interviews with child-parent dyads to facilitating MRI scans, conducting QA on the neuroimaging data we collect, and handling data collection and cleaning. Preceding my time in Delaware, I graduated summa cum laude from Transylvania University with a degree in Psychology and a dual degree in Writing, Rhetoric and Communications. While at university, I developed my written and multimodal communications skills working as a Writing Center Scholar, Resident Advisor, and Area Coordinator while participating in the non-profit and social work sector for local organizations to develop my audio, visual, and copy-editing skills. Following graduation, I took a position with the Spanish Ministry of Education, working as an English language instructor in a primary school classroom while deepening my roots in the community to expand my social change initiative on a global scale through volunteering and travel.
