About Ruchal Kale

I’m Ruchal Kale, a Biomedical Engineering postgrad at UNSW driven by a mission to bridge cutting-edge research with real-world healthcare impact. With hands-on experience across diagnostics R&D, microfluidics, and frontline customer service, I’ve worn multiple hats from developing qPCR assays during my internship at Mylab Discovery Solutions, to managing high-volume retail environments at Woolworths, to building life-changing assistive devices for patients in Tonga as part of UNSW’s Global Impact Program. I thrive at the intersection of science, empathy, and execution. Currently, I’m leading a master’s thesis focused on engineering a 3D in vitro model of the human carotid artery using PDMS microfluidics to study endothelial dysfunction under varying shear stress conditions blending vascular biology, confocal microscopy, and flow modeling to better understand atherosclerosis. Before UNSW, I learned business from the ground up in our family-owned automobile dealership, which spans 20+ showrooms and over 100 employees across two major Indian cities. That environment taught me how to manage people, drive sales, and lead with purpose skills I still carry into every team and lab I step into. I’m currently seeking opportunities in healthcare consulting, medtech strategy, or commercial roles in medical technology where I can merge technical insight with business acumen to drive meaningful impact.
