About Ruchi Kumari

I am interested in working in research and content writing and analysis field in clinical science and biotechnology products. Most of the research experience I have had till now has been mainly in protein science. A larger part of my work was in projects such as ‘Investigating hyphal protein candidates from Candida to provide immunization against systemic Candidiasis’ where I did cloning, expression and purification of proteins, formulated their dosage using immunization and infection studies in mice by doing ELISA assay for antibody titre, checking organ fungal burden and survival assays. The next project in which I have been working since past 2 years is on Kinesin motor proteins, studying the biophysics of their autoregulation and cargo specific studies. My main objective is to study the role of Kinesin 3 protein, KIF13A and KIF13B, on recycling endosome formation in conjunction with Rab GTPases. With the data obtained, I have submitted a publication. This work includes cell culture and transfection, fluorescence microscopy - epifluorescence and confocal, cloning and recombinant protein expression, purification, pull-down and immunoprecipitation experiments, western blotting and analysis. I look forward to work on the biology of diseases, both genotypic and phenotypic studies, cognitive or induced by environmental stress, microbes or dysfunctional proteins or haywire metabolism and translate this knowledge into developing diagnostics and cure. I also do freelance content writing for subject related content and have worked with a Social news blog called Jolchobi for a short while. I am adept in writing and editing.
