Chartered Surveyor, with 20+ years post qualification experience, obtained predominantly through development and regeneration work. I am comfortable with complex projects and instructions, with the ability to interpret data, deal with challenging issues and provide informed reporting. Viability Assessment: Viability assessment is a core element of my work, and this is wide ranging. Typically, this involves the preparation of ‘Financial Viability Assessments’ (FVAs) to assist clients at planning to achieve the best outcomes in terms of reducing exposure to affordable housing and S.106 contributions. My viability experience outside of FVA work often informs the trajectory that land or a development site might have, in terms of the consideration of several alternative scheme options. Strategic Land: Experienced in strategic land, acting for both landowner and promoters/developers. In this capacity I have successfully negotiated promotion agreements, option agreements and development agreements. Experience has provided me with a strong understanding of the components of an agreement, the requirements of safeguarding mechanisms and the interpretation and implications of valuation clauses. Land Disposal: During my career I have sold numerous development sites and opportunities, both with and without planning permission. My experience allows me to inform vendors of the requirements to achieve a successful disposal and the mechanisms needed to achieve this. Furthermore, I can identify issues that may affect a sale or have an impact upon the potential end capital receipt. Regeneration: Having worked closely with several Local Authorities and associated stakeholders, this has exposed me to a wide range of projects, and crucially an understanding of LA reporting and procurement.
