Rupesh Mehta, Managing Director, is Global Head of Production Control within Aladdin Data. The mission of the team comprising of 8 sub-chapters and 250+ members is to transform Aladdin's data and analytics factory into a utility-grade data supply chain and service toolkit i.e. event-based to minimize a) turnaround time between inputs and outputs, b) human touch points and c) compute costs. The data platform, global operating model and automated processing enable us to support 20+ trillions in assets under risk management and over portfolios and benchmarks across BlackRock and the Aladdin community. We are responsible for extending and integrating our system frameworks to construct the data pipeline and operator platform on the analytics factory floor. We strive to achieve scale and simplicity by leveraging technology to support the business needs in terms of volume and complexity. Key areas of focus for our team in the analytics factory assembly line include: 1. Orchestrate and integrate data, systems and operations 2. Evolve production from a batch-to event-based process 3. Develop and maintain quality control platform to implement best quality control models and practices to detect anomalies 4. Develop and maintain operator platform for production monitoring, data workflow, deliverable tasks and communication to allow operators to review status and take actions on all exceptions, events, alerts and incidents 5. Continuously measure and improve quality and efficiency based on data-driven analysis of 5 key metrics: human resources, timeliness, system resources, relevance and availability. Rationalize and standardize operations and processes in the analytics data factory We service above requirements by marrying deep domain-specific expertise with technical and process architecture, software development, business intelligence, process optimization, and quantitative analysis. The team works closely with the partner teams in Data Operations and Solutions to address questions, concerns and requests of our clients.
