About Rupesh Sinha

With a career spanning more than 18 years in the financial sector, I bring forth a decade of expertise in providing technical assistance and advisory services to banks, microfinance institutions, and affordable housing finance companies across six countries. Additionally, I have accumulated over 8 years of experience in retail microfinance and agriculture finance business. My clientele encompasses banks, microfinance companies, private equity investors, Authored multiple proposals to secure grant funding for providing technical assistance services to Financial Institutions. Have played a pivotal role in incubating three start-up Non-Banking Finance Companies-MFIs, providing my expertise for durations ranging from one to three years. Furthermore, I have undertaken over 40 short-term assignments for banks, MFIs, and affordable finance companies. These assignments covered diverse areas such as strategic business planning, fintech, institutional assessment, training and development, financial literacy, marketing strategy, product development, process reengineering, internal audits, and integrated risk management. My professional track record includes effective engagement with top management, investors, government officials, and other key stakeholders. I have actively contributed to the field by developing toolkits for MFIs, covering aspects like internal audit, market research, financial modeling, institutional assessment, merger and acquisition, social performance management, financial literacy and training and development. I am serving as a member of the Policy Working Group of the Myanmar Microfinance Association. Professional engagements have taken me across diverse regions, providing valuable experiences in India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Papua New Guinea.
