About Russ Cazier

My job is to test incoming steel chambers from our suppliers that will be pressurized with the gas that inflates airbags. Testing is done ultrasonically with hardware and software that checks for defects in the material that could cause the chamber to rupture. This technology protects our company from financial loss and our employees, customers and end users from bodily harm.In performing my job I calibrate the software using calibration standards making adjustments where necessary. I follow safety and quality standards that ensure the product is properly tested and done so safely. Examples of this are filling out daily inspection sheets and using lock out tag out when I enter into robot cages. I am responsible for the entire process from requesting the proper inventory from material handlers to delivering the tested lot of chambers to the next step of production. Part of my job is to stop and notify my immediate supervisor if I find any abnormalities in the process (Jidoka). I am also responsible for looking for ways to improve the process or area in which I work (Kaizan). I am a team player and like to help my team perform to the best of its ability. As a trainer, I have been responsible for training new employees and performed in my supervisor's place when he was absent. I have also been selected as "Employee of the Month" multiple times by teammates.
