About Russell Pullan

My passion is decarbonizing our economy through innovative technologies - this has led me to join eLeapPower as CEO. I have a full arc of experience in the low-carbon economy, including as serial entrepreneur, as a general partner in pioneering cleantech venture capital funds, as a limited partner investing in clean energy funds, plus two IPOs on the LSE. So, why do I love eLeapPower? Of the many hundreds of clean technologies I've encountered over the years - and invested in as a venture capitalist - eLeapPower is the first one that compelled me to return to my roots running startups, invest my own cash, and move from the UK to Toronto. eLeapPower has completely reimagined the electric vehicle powertrain so that EVs can charge faster, drive farther on each charge, and are cheaper to manufacture. Moreover, it is a new technology allowing cars to charge directly from renewables like wind and solar - enabling EVs to be truly green. I am very excited to join forces with my partner Tony Han and the brilliant engineers who developed our suite of award-winning technologies. It speaks volumes for their innovation and dedication that a company at our stage of growth has already signed a multi-year contract to provide tens of thousands of our Smart Inverters to an existing production line of best-selling, fully-electric commercial vehicles manufactured by one of the world's leading car companies. In addition to running eLeapPower, I am strongly committed to climate change mitigation efforts and have advised to UN, COP, OECD and government initiatives. I am past Chair of the Sustainable Business Network for Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and an active impact investor. I also have a keen interest in gender and investing and was honoured to join the advisory board for Women Effect, which promotes gender-equitable investing.* eLeapPower was originally called Havelaar Canada.
