About Rusty Barras

I consider myself to be a 'big picture' engineer with leadership abilities necessary to meet projects' stakeholderneeds and develop/mentor my subordinates. I have a solid technical background with an emphasis on fit for purpose solutions. My career experience variesfrom project management roles in consulting to serving as a Lead TA (Technical Authority) for Controls andInstrumentation engineering discipline. I have accumulated over 20 years of experience in engineering, mostly inthe oil and gas industry, 11 of which working directly for Shell. I hold current my PE and have a graduate degree inEngineering Management. One of the most challenging and rewarding roles in my career was when I was working in cosulting. Duringmy years in that role, I successfully executed a PM role for 2 grassroots gas plants. Those projects were bothschedule and cost driven. Value engineering delivery was essential to their successes, which I feel I deliveredexceptionally. There were many lessons learned during that period which I carry with me to this day. I feel I amsuited to higher-profile, Mega and Major projects in either project management or performing as an engineeringlead.
