About Rusty Rowan

After attending the NEALA in 2005, I was honored to serve the City of Boaz Alabama as a patrol officer, K9 handler, and school resource officer. I am also proud of my time in the private sector, having worked in the auto auction industry. While there, I served as a dealer sales representative and general manager. I have worked in offices with as few as 3 employees, and managed a business with 50+ staff members. In 2016, after my children "moved off" to college, I was privileged to attend the Montgomery Alabama Police Academy, where I completed the state required Officer Refresher Course and returned to full-time law enforcement service. My time away from law enforcement helped to give me a more well-rounded understanding of the manangement of individuals, as well as practical "hands on" experience in business finance and other issues relating to budget requirements, government regulaton/compliance, and fleet costs and management. I believe that law enforcement is ever changing and if we are to be effective in our field, we must change (professionally) as well. I hope to use my business and life experiences to bring positive influences to my department and others around me.
